The new, second-generation Porsche Macan is an all-electric SUV with two model variants at launch and a range of up to 381 miles.

To arrive on dealer forecourts during the second half of 2024, the new Macan is Porsche’s second all-electric car and joins the Taycan, which launched in 2019. Initially, the SUV will be available in two specifications, called the Macan 4 (pictured below) and Macan Turbo (shown above).

Both are powered by a pair of motors, have all-wheel-drive and use an 800-volt system architecture. They are also both fitted with a 95 kWh battery pack, and their interior can be equipped with a next-generation head-up display system that incorporates augmented reality into its navigation and driver assistance systems.

The Macan 4 is the entry-level model. Its exterior is softer and more rounded than the sharper, sportier and slightly more angular Macan Turbo. The 4 makes 300 kW (403 horsepower) when its overboost mode is activated; it has a 0-62 mph time of 5.2 seconds, a top speed of 137 mph and a claimed WLTP range of up to 381 miles from a charge.

Meanwhile, the sportier (and pricier) Macan Turbo produces 470 kW (631 hp) in overboost mode, accelerates to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 161 mph. Its range is slightly less than the Macan 4, at up to 367 miles when using the WLTP testing standard. Porsche says the new Macan EV can tow up to 2,000 kg (4,400 lbs) but doesn’t say how much range is affected.
